Sketch to Screen

A sizable collection of the concept art from Big Huge's sophomore release, Rise of Legends, will be on display at the School of Art + Design at Montgomery College's Gudelsky Gallery starting on February 19th. The show was first held last September at MICA's Rosenberg Gallery and was welcomed with positive press. Much of the work can be seen in this thread over at conceptart.org. I find it quite satisfying to see game artwork displayed in a traditional gallery setting. I look forward to the day when it enjoys equal enthusiasm and appreciation to that of its fine art cousin.

In addition to concept work there will be a collection of in-engine related videos offering a glimpse of character animations and FX at various stages of the game's production. On that note here's a gameplay vid showing off some of the final animation and FX work...
